My Salutations to all Pious Souls…………..
FAITH
Before making spiritual progress it is necessary for
us to have control over our body, because a
person, who does not have control over his body, will never have control over
his soul! We are independent in our daily lives; but we do not have control
over ourselves, and we often take the help of ‘Guru Places’ to obtain control
over our habits and our body. This is because we have a feeling of ‘faith’ towards
the Guru Places and because of this feeling of faith we become capable of
obtaining control over our body. We are incapable of controlling our body; we
are ‘slaves’ of our body.
But when we go to Ashrams in the form of Guru Places,
and we see everybody following the administrative rules of the Ashram with ‘a
feeling of oneness’, then by following those administrative rules, and through
the effect of collectivity we slowly, very slowly succeed in obtaining control
over our body; i.e. this Ashram is the
final solution for us to obtain control over the habits of our body.
Each Ashram has its own rules, its own administration;
it has its own yardstick of purity and
sanctity. Hence always remember that
neither any rule nor the administration should be disturbed by any of your
acts. The negative energies will always
try to use you as a medium to break those rules and destroy the purity of that
place, so always be on the alert against becoming a ‘medium’ of such negative
energies; it is necessary to have control over your body before you obtain
control over your soul.
In the Ramayana, ‘Ravana’ had also come to take ‘Sita’
away, disguised as a ‘saint’. Are those negative energies coming to the Ashram
disguised as sadhaks? ‘Every sadhak’
will definitely have to be aware of this. It
would be better for you not to come to the Ashram if you do not have any
control over your body or the habits of your body; because then at least you won’t commit the ‘sin’ of breaking the
rules of the Ashram.
Entire spirituality is based on only one word, that
word is ‘authorised’ – whatever work you
are doing, are you authorised by the ‘Guru Energies’ to do that work? First
ask yourself this question and only then proceed to do that work. An ordinary
person goes to the Himalayas, he stays there for years together with meditating
‘Kaivalya Kumbhak Yogis’, obeys the rules of that place, and follows the
discipline of that place – he managed to do all this because he had faith in his Guru, these are the
‘rules’ of my ‘Guru’, this is my ‘Guru’s’ ‘discipline’, I love my Guru, I
love everything about Him – this was a ‘pure’ feeling of ‘faith’; and because
of this my body went on accepting everything. First my body had submitted to those rules and that discipline and
later my soul.
My dear, a rose plant also has thorns, and these
thorns only offer protection to the rose, hence always remember that any
‘institution’ is dependent only on discipline and management. First learn to follow
the rules and discipline, and if any sadhak is breaking any rules then let him
do so; why are you breaking the rules? He is breaking rules as he does not have
control over his body. Why are you
placing your attention (chitta) on such sadhaks! He is becoming a ‘medium’
of negative energies, and tomorrow these
negative energies will take him out of collectivity; why are you placing your chitta on ‘somebody
who is going to leave’? I am worried about you, not about him, as
he is going to leave anyway.
It is not easy to submit the body into the soul’s
control. We have to first control our bad habits, our taste buds, the ego of
‘I’ of the body. Why should I follow this rule? Then you have to face your
intellect and then your mind shows you the way to break it (discipline/rules).
The body is not used to the inconveniences which have to be faced there, hence
the body also opposes this; and many
times, over there, we meet people who are at the same level as us. As a
result, the feeling of the ‘body’ increases further, and all this increases
when we are short of ‘inner feeling’ within us. Hence it would be better not to
go to such ‘Guru Places’ until we awaken ‘faith’ and ‘feeling’ within us. We
should offer our prayers only from home, as by doing this at least some ‘inner
feeling’ will be awakened, and you will be saved from becoming a medium of the
negative energies by going there. This is far more important because those sadhaks who break the rules and
discipline leave the path of meditation and do not return. This is my personal
experience, because it is the collectivity that makes them leave.
Administration of the Establishment
Come let us now understand something about our ‘Establishment’.
For the past 800 years, there was a method of meditation in the Himalayas, which
was based on experience. It is said that
you cannot progress on the spiritual path without obtaining spiritual
experience. And when the (topic of) experience was raised then a living medium was ‘authorised’ and sent by
the Guru Energies, and thus this method of meditation started in our
society.
For the ‘medium’ too, this entire world is new. He had
seen the ‘world of the Gurus’ but this was the world of ‘sadhaks’. And the
world of sadhaks was quite small; this was about fifteen years back. The five
people who came and sat before me were selected, and the ‘Trust’ was
‘established’ and started its operations. And slowly, very slowly the work
started increasing; initially the work was limited only to conducting shibirs
(meditation camps). Later on, a centre was started first in Juhu and then
subsequently, more centres continued to be established. Then an ‘office’ was opened
and big programmes started taking place. After every three years new Trustees
started coming, some managed to give
time, some did not; there was no responsibility assigned, some managed to
do the work, some did not. No work was entrusted; everything was voluntary. If you wanted to work, you did so,
otherwise you did not. The state was that of a ‘one man’ army. Only one ‘medium’ to conduct the programmes,
give experience, look after the administration, perform one’s own ‘spiritual practice’ – in the midst of all these
things the ‘medium’ maintained His
spiritual state, because He knew that if He maintained that state then the
situation around Him too would one day definitely improve. Hence, the medium
spent more time on His ‘spiritual practice’ and because of this our ‘Trust’
progressed ‘spiritually’, as this sphere was managed by the ‘medium’ Himself.
Later an ‘Ashram’ was built and for many years there
was only one Ashram. Later, some more Ashrams were constructed with the
collective strength of the sadhaks; but it
never happened that all the Trustees worked jointly together. Some (Trustees)
never used to work at all, and used to sit at home – so the entire workload
used to come on those who worked. And because of this excess workload, they too were unable to work efficiently.
They were also not qualified to do all the work but that was not their fault,
as it was not necessary for one person to be ‘specialised’ in everything; hence it has taken so much time to
‘acquire’ the land. Secondly, in the first meeting of every (Board of) Trustees
- the ‘medium’ used to tell them – I have no ‘goal’, I have no ‘plans’ – you just
stay with ‘love’ in the collectivity and the Guru Energies will perform all the
work. But they could not even stay
together with a feeling of love and harmony and they kept fighting because of
their ego of ‘I’.
The medium’s state was that of a ‘mother’ – whose side
could He take - all were His children. The
same situation continues today; and even in this situation the work has increased
and expanded, the number of sadhaks has increased to lakhs (millions), and
currently the function of consecration
of life-force energy in the 8th Divine Idol is going on. Now
this entire system is 15 years old and in the last ten years the world has
changed completely, hence it is necessary to hand over the entire management to
the younger generation and for this reason I have made the start with my own
house. Now a new system will come into place.
SAVINGS
After the children took over the work they first told
me, and that is when I came to know, that we have many small programmes which
are conducted free of cost throughout the year, and a lot of expenditure takes
place because of this; that the monthly expenses incurred for running the
Ashrams is more (than the income), and there is no fixed income. Hence no ‘plans’
can be made. So I advised them that it is not in our hands to increase the
income, you should first reduce your
expenses, as reducing expenses is in our hands – I have been saying this to the
Trustees for the last ten years. The daily labourers who had been hired for
Rs. 150 per day were first asked to leave, and their work was divided amongst
the sadhaks and volunteers (sevadharis). The lighting outside my cottage used
to be kept switched on all the time. The children said that you do not come out
at night so if those lights are not switched on, it should be fine. I said yes
I do not need it, so this time that too has been switched off. Thus, emphasis is being placed on reducing costs.
10
% PLEDGE PLAN
Only by reducing expenditure will we be able to apply
our income to our development work. While developing the Ashrams I had tried not to leave the construction of buildings for
the next generation but to leave the land, because the development work is
definitely going to increase manifold after me, and land is necessary for
development work. Now the land acquisition work has been completed. Now, very soon, the work of construction of
the ‘Shree Guru Shakti Dham’ is going to commence. Also other development
work is going to start and a steady ‘income’ will be required for this. Keeping
all these matters in mind, the sadhaks/sadhikas from ‘Saurashtra’ have brought
forward a proposed plan by which a fixed amount could be collected every year.
And based on the definitiveness of this income the kind of work which will be completed
can also be decided. The outline of this ‘plan’ is as follows:
The name of this plan is ‘10% Pledge Plan’. In this plan, the main feeling is that the earth
is round, and whatever you give will come back to you manifold. Hence you give
‘liberation’ (moksha) to others so that you obtain ‘liberation’ (moksha) during
your life-time. My personal experience is that ‘liberation’ (moksha) is that
state of meditation which you can obtain only by sharing with others. Now the
question is, how will the sadhaks share this state with others – the answer to
that is – by creating the ‘Moksha Dham’ (House of Liberation). Now the Shree Guru Shakti Dhams which are going
to be constructed will prove to be ‘Moksha Dham’ for the next 800 years, for
those souls who seek liberation. For obtaining liberation it is necessary to
obtain self-realisation. Now the work of bestowing ‘self-realisation’ will be
carried out through the medium of the Divine Idols, because these Divine Idols
have been created with an active ‘pledge’. When these Idols were being
consecrated with life-force energy, a pledge has been made that these Idols
will carry out the holy work of bestowing ‘spiritual experience’ for the next
800 years. This is the progress of the Guru Energies – a ‘living medium’ has made them (Divine Idols) ‘alive’ and completed the
objective of His life.
By
participating in this plan, a sadhak or sadhika will surrender his/her entire
income for Guru-karya at the Feet of Gurudev and will receive 90% of the income
in the form of ‘blessings’ (Prasad) for himself/herself from the surrendered
income. He/she will maintain his/her life from that, and will apply 10% of his/her income every year for Guru-karya. The sadhak
or sadhika who participates in this plan will be called ‘Dasha banda dhari’.
This ‘Dasha banda
dhari Plan’ is being started from 1st April 2014. If you so desire
you can participate in this plan and contribute towards the construction of the
Shree Guru Shakti Dham. With this the ‘Trust’ will get a fixed amount for the
construction work of Shree Guru Shakti Dham, and thus a plan could be decided
for the manner in which the future construction work should be undertaken. You
too will get an opportunity in your life to participate in the construction
work which will take place with such a pure goal. And I will personally ensure that the money which comes from this plan will
be utilised only for this construction work. I give you this assurance.
THE EGO OF ‘I’
This
is like saying ‘its morning when you wake up’. Now
whatever you donate should be done by sacrificing the ego of ‘I’. Do it for the
satisfaction of your soul, do it for strengthening your soul, do it for your
own ‘spiritual progress’, because your soul is going to obtain ‘complete
satisfaction’ with this donation. This is
because your money is going to be applied for creating such a pure
place, that in the future, lakhs
(millions) of souls are going obtain inner experience from this place; and in
this world, no donation is greater than the donation of inner knowledge. By
offering a meal to someone, a person gets satisfaction at the physical level, but
by feeding someone ‘inner knowledge, man
obtains ‘inner peace’. Perhaps it is the desire of the Guru Energies that you should first get free from the ego of ‘I’
and only later with the help of pure and holy souls the construction work
of Shree Guru Shakti Dham will start. First
we will start the work at Dandi and Kutch Ashrams because the ‘work’ of getting
the N.A. for the land at these places has been completed.
The current management of the ‘Trust’ too is not
satisfactory. Even now the Trustees are not able to devote sufficient ‘time’,
nor is there a feeling of kinship amongst them and hence it is necessary to ‘restructure’ the Trust.
Computers have great importance in present time. It is
necessary to computerise the entire office administration, and all the centres
should also use computers for sending messages – we will have to move in step
with the times.
SECLUDED
COTTAGE (SANCTUM)
With the pledge of these eight Divine Idols a large segment
of time of ‘Samarpan Meditation’ has been completed. During this time period,
whatever good experiences I have obtained, I have shared them all with you. I
have always wished that whatever good I have obtained in life, the same should
also be obtained by you. I wish that the kind of ‘seclusion’ I obtained during this Deep Meditation Anushthan should
also be obtained by you during the next Deep Meditation Anushthan. The first
experience is that for spiritual peace it is necessary for the body to have a
peaceful secluded environment. For one, our ‘tongue’ gets rest as one has to
eat whatever is placed before you. If you do this for 45 days then the tongue’s
greediness for food will come to an end. Secondly, the energy which would be
wasted by talking during these 45 days will be saved when you are in ‘silence’
for 45 days. If you use this energy for your spiritual progress then you will
progress spiritually. Just as a gardener leaves a gap between two saplings
while planting them so that both of them should grow nicely, similarly for a
human to progress spiritually it is necessary for every human to spend some time in ‘solitude’, spend some
time with one’s Soul, as by doing this your relationship with your Soul
will be strengthened. This time I felt that when we go to sleep our aura
becomes more sensitive, and if at that time you are in seclusion then its ability to absorb energy increases
manifold. But no other human should be around you for that to happen. This
must be the reason why Saints and Sages used to go to the jungle looking for an
‘uninhabited’ place to stay and used
to make spiritual progress. I have benefited greatly by this 45 days time
period to maintain my spiritual state, after coming to this crowded society
from the pure and uninhabited Himalayas. It is my wish that you too should
benefit by this, for which some ‘secluded
cottages’ will be created. Such ‘secluded cottages’ may be built in each
Ashram and whichever sadhak wants to stay in them may do so. If this happens, then during these 45 days you
will realise that you are a Soul. Once you realise who you are, then you will
also know me; but first it is necessary to know yourself.
I imagine a ‘cottage’ in which you will be able to
stay alone; there is a garden around it where you can walk around, a box near
the main door in which you get two meals a day. You do not have a phone or any
other gadget, you are completely cut off from the entire world – you are there and your Soul is there,
that’s all – outside your garden there
is a 12 foot high metal barrier because of which you cannot see anyone nor
can anyone can see you. You have a lot of time on your hands, and only your
thoughts. No one else’s thoughts are reaching you from other environments, and
there is no sound either.
ETERNAL
KNOWLEDGE
For 45 days you will be silent without tying the
‘silence’ scarf. After some days you will realise that you are going within
yourself and you will feel that I have
unnecessarily wasted my time, there is a lot to know within. After some
days you will obtain the experience that there
is no one as close to you as your Soul, that there is a world within us,
there is a wealth of knowledge within us; all the knowledge is within us – ‘who
am I’ – knowing this is the highest knowledge. Once we know this, then we start
obtaining the rest of the knowledge from there itself. We try to get to know the entire world but not one’s self; and what
we assume to be knowledge is just
information on that subject. Thus what we understand as ‘knowledge’ is
actually only information, and information is always of the past. This is
exactly what is happening in our spiritual sphere. What we call as ‘spiritual
knowledge’ is nothing more than just information obtained from books, and
information is always of the ‘past’; this information has their experiences, their
spiritual experiences and these are of their time. That message, that advice is
from that time, whereas in the last ten
years the intellect has developed manifold. In that case how much the
intellect must have developed in thousands of years, so how can ‘spiritual progress’ take place with
information which is thousands of years old?
An employee who works in a library picks up and puts thousands
of books which have been kept down by people into the cupboard daily; so will he become a ‘scholar’ by carrying (those books)? He will have to read those
books for becoming a scholar. Similarly, if we keep taking information from
books all our lives, then when will we
obtain knowledge, because we will only get information from books and not
‘knowledge’. And this knowledge will not remain with you till the end; once
you become old you will forget it. This
is because this information is not the truth, it is not timeless. I will tell
you my personal experience. I often meet Saints and Sages who are great
scholars in their own fields, who give ‘discourses’ for hours together, and
when I tell them that I am an illiterate simpleton and ask them to leave aside
the books and talk to me, then they
become silent. Why? Because they only have information, not ‘knowledge’ – knowledge is of the
present, it is in accordance with the present circumstances.
‘Knowledge’ is timeless, you can never forget it; and the
knowledge you have obtained will remain
with you till your last breath. You cannot ever forget this knowledge as it
is your own. You have obtained it, it is not information taken from outside;
and in this field of knowledge no one is
a Guru to anyone, and no one is anybody’s disciple. Whether it is the Guru
or a disciple, the same knowledge flows through both equally – the difference
is that of ‘ignorance’, difference of the feeling of the body, the ‘physical feeling’. The Guru does not
have any physical feeling; the physical feeling is resident in the disciple,
and this physical feeling is the ‘lack of knowledge’ – that I am a body. Now
‘I’ will try to explain this to you with another example. There is a ‘snowy’ white
cloth, pure white, and there is no stain on it. Hence, the ‘purity’ of that white colour will definitely flow from that cloth.
There are other white cloths, but they are dirty,
there are some small stains on it, and because of this dirtiness, because of
these stains, these white cloths do not appear to be white; despite being white,
they do not appear to have lustre.
There is no difference between those ‘white cloths’,
they are all similar; but the first one is without stains and not dirty;
and hence appears to be different, but actually it is not different. It is not
the best, it too is similar; however, the difference is in its purity, its bright
shine. If the chitta of the dirty white cloths is always on the pure white
cloths, then they too will be inspired, they too will desire - if only I too
could be pure like that cloth; and one day all those dirty white cloths will
also become like those pure white cloths. Then the first kind of white cloth
will not appear to be different. They will all become similar, and then
there will be no Guru and no disciple – everybody will become one with God,
Paramatma will flow through everyone. This is because the purity of the ‘pure
white cloth’ is uniform, and similarly ‘Paramatma’s consciousness’ is the same.
It is one and the same; neither is Guru the ‘consciousness’ nor is the disciple
the ‘consciousness’, so it is just ‘consciousness’.
TIMELESS TRUTH
‘Consciousness’ is Paramatma, and Paramatma is always the
same for everyone. Only that Paramatma is timeless, everything else is useless,
just talk. That is the only ‘truth’ and that truth is within everyone, and knowing
that is ‘knowledge’. All souls are diamonds but as they are lying in muck their
shine is not visible; if you remove the muck of the ego of ‘I’ from that
feeling of the body then the diamond-(like) soul’s shine will come through.
All souls are diamonds - the difference is only of the ‘muck’ and of the
surrounding atmosphere. If you just realise that you are a
diamond, then too the ‘muck’ of ignorance will go away. Now consider
that we are all just pure white cloths; but white purity could have its own
different kinds of definitions. Each one considers himself to be pure and holy;
and therefore to understand this yardstick of what is purity, and which is the
pious state, my Gurus kept one cloth with them for several years and washed it
a lot; and then they sent it to you in the form of a ‘medium’ so that you
should realise what is the purity of a white cloth, how white a white cloth
should be.
After performing this task, the Himalayan Gurus completed
their work. Now you too have understood the yardstick of how pure the white
cloth should be, how clean it needs to become; that too you have come to know –
so now what is the difference between you and me – you too are a white cloth
and so am I. The purity of the white cloth is uniform amongst us, the
difference is that of the stains on the white cloth; the day you remove those
stains the same purity which is called Paramatma will flow through all of us.
Just by looking at this white cloth your white cloth will not become lustrous
or pure – you will have to look within this white cloth. This medium in the
form of a white cloth is not something to be seen or heard – this is a ‘medium’
– you will have to experience the ‘Soul in the form of a pure lustrous cloth’
that lies behind it.
PURE SOUL
You have to experience the ‘pure soul’ behind the
medium; for that you will have to understand the ‘field of that pure soul’.
Only through the medium of that vast realm is it possible to reach Him. By
‘realm’ I mean that vast realm with which the ‘pure soul’ is connected.
First you should understand that He is a ‘pure soul’
with whom lakhs (million) of souls are connected and the ‘pure soul’ is
connected to lakhs (millions) of souls. Thus every sadhak’s soul comes under His
‘realm’; every sadhak of ours should have ‘closeness at the inner level’ with
other sadhaks because we wish to reach that ‘medium’. The Guru’s Trust comes
under the Guru’s realm – your behaviour with those ‘Trusts’, their sevadharis
(volunteer workers) and their Trustees should be full of inner closeness. You
should have a feeling of kinship with them. Whenever you go for any programme
organised by the Trust, your behaviour should be such that there should be
no trouble because of you. You should respect all the rules and
arrangements – you should not break any administrative rule. Whenever you go to
the Ashrams you should give prior notice of three days and then go. By doing
this your ability to absorb (consciousness) will increase.
You should obey the rules of the Ashram with regard to
purity, cleanliness and arrangements by considering them as your own. Whenever
you go to the Ashram, always volunteer for some service or the other; by doing
this you will benefit by performing one more Guru-karya. On the other hand, if
everyone volunteers their services then the Ashram will be purer and cleaner.
If you feel that something is not right, do not just give a suggestion, tell
them what you can do and show your readiness to do it. If there is any dirt
in your house do you give any suggestion? No isn’t it! You immediately start
removing the dirt, similarly this is your ‘Trust’, this is your ‘Ashram’, the
more you increase this feeling of ownership, the closer you will go to the
Guru Energies. Whenever you come to the Ashram do not think of what I will
receive, what facilities I will get – look at what else you can do over there,
how other sadhak’s can get more ‘facilities’. Think of what you can contribute
to this new development work which is going to start, how many ‘stones’ can I
contribute at Guru Shakti Dham.
In the future, Shree Guru
Shakti Dham is going to become a global university of spiritual experience. In the
coming 800 years, lakhs (millions) of souls are going to come to this global
university and through their experience are going to be educated on obtaining
inner knowledge. In the future, the place for these global universities will
not be enough. Can I be of any help in this work? The best cows in our
country are being kept at the ‘cowshed’, what work of keeping other species is
going on? Can I be of any help in this? How many more trees can be planted
here? How can I help in improving the water supply, lighting? A ‘global
university’ can be created for the children of sadhaks, where facilities for
meditation and ‘spiritual knowledge’ can also be created along with education.
Whenever you come to the Ashram think big; with this,
you too will progress and the ‘Guru’s sphere’ will also progress. All these are
plans of the ‘medium’. You have to ‘participate’ in these plans with your
chitta so that you will be able to enter within this ‘Guru’s sphere’ where you
wish to enter. The Guru Energies are resident in every atom of the ‘Guru’s
sphere’, and by doing this you will experience this at ‘every moment’.
‘Guru’s realm’ is a place where, just by keeping
our chitta on such positive matters, our chitta will become pure and holy and
the greater our cloth, the greater will be the lustre and purity of our
‘God-like soul’. I pray to God - may this message bestow a ‘positive energy’ on
all of you and a positive change come over all of you through this ‘eighth
Anushthan’. Lots of Blessings to you all
Yours
Babaswami
