問題：爲什麽需要一個師父？

答案：如果說不需要一個師父，那也就不需要有學校了。每一個人可以買書籍閲讀就好。一個人可以透過閲讀學習到如何認識一些東西，但是卻不能學到如何去吸取知識。瑜伽姿勢（體位法），呼吸技巧（與整體一起呼吸）以及靜心都是不同的。一個人可以透過靜心達到無念狀態，也可以透過靜心控制意識。親近師父是一條可以輕易地達到神性的途徑，那麽他就不需要到處徘徊尋找，因爲往往在徘徊當中，生命就結束了。

Question : What is the need for a Guru?

Answer : If there was no need for a Guru then there would be no need to have schools either. Everyone would buy books and read them. By reading books one learns how to recognize something, but one doesn’t receive the knowledge of how to obtain it. Yogic postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayam), and meditation are all different. One can reach a thoughtless state through meditation, and one can control one’s chitta through meditation. The path to reach Paramatma is facilitated in the proximity of the Guru; and one doesn’t have to wander here and there in search of it, as sometimes one’s life comes to an end as one wanders around.
